Metadata
Which tool composed the document, which tool wrote it, and on which dates. Two tools from different families leave a trace.

Successive saves
Every rewrite leaves a marker in the file. The report counts how many times the document was reopened and saved again.

Areas and fonts
Opaque rectangles, freehand strokes, overlaid images, a digit in another font: located page by page, with the text recovered underneath when the file keeps it.
